The Campus Chapel is a Christian community made up of students and other people whose lives are connected to the University of Michigan. We worship, serve, study and socialize together. We’re lifelong learners who seek to love God with our hearts and our minds. We invite you to get to know us and to join us in that pursuit.

The Campus Chapel is a Christian Community…

At the Campus Chapel, we do more than worship together on Sunday morning; we do life together. We share a meal together on Wednesday night. We study the Bible together. We discern, pray and reflect together. We play frisbee at the Arb together and we volunteer together. Our purpose, as a community, is to encourage one another to live and to love as Jesus did, in every moment and in every way.

…that loves God with heart and mind.

We value going deep into scripture, deep into relationship with God and others, and deep into theological study about God and God’s world. At the Chapel we engage our doubts by asking the tough questions. Given our context on the campus of a world renowned university and our roots in the Reformed tradition, we value thoughtful theological reflection. This means that we engage God and the world on both an emotional level and an intellectual level. As we do so, we come discover that God and God’s world are more remarkable than what we ever would have thought.

We believe that worship is central to the Christian life. At the Chapel, we meet for worship every week at 10:00 am on Sunday morning. All are welcome to join us as we sing, pray, listen to a Biblical sermon and celebrate the sacraments together. Find out more about worship at the Chapel by checking out our vision for worship. Our worship services last about an hour and are always followed by a time of fellowship. Our building is located at 1236 Washtenaw Ct., on the East side of Central Campus. On Sunday mornings, you can park for free in the public parking structure located on Church Street, right behind the Chapel building.

Winter at the Chapel is filled with lots of opportunities to study, fellowship, and volunteer with other Christians. We invite you to join a small group, participate in a variety of social activities, or join us in volunteering in the Ann Arbor community.

Small groups

Interested in joining a Bible Study? This winter, the Chapel is offering several Bible studies and you are invited to participate. These studies are lead by Chapel staff in conjunction with members of the Chapel. We meet together weekly to study the Bible or other books which are relevant to the Christian life. If you’re interested in more information, contact us or check out our small groups page.

Fellowship

Social gatherings take place often at the Chapel. Whether it’s riding our bikes to the Dexter cider mill, watching a movie, sharing a meal in someone’s home or participating in a competitive Euchre tournament, we know how to play well. Fellowship events are announced weekly, following the worship service and are listed on our calendar.

Volunteering

At the Campus Chapel we understand that, as Christians, we are called to work for the betterment of this world that God created and is working to redeem. We believe it’s important to remain connected to and grounded in the real world – a world very much in need of the healing presence of the gospel. This is why we encourage people to get involved in their local communities and in the worldwide community to work for justice and to bring peace. We also realize that this is sometimes easier said than done!

To help people incorporate service into their already busy lives, the Chapel works to organize volunteer opportunities that work around busy schedules. This year, we will volunteer monthly at the Community Kitchen, an organization that helps to feed those in need in Ann Arbor. We’ll also participate in alternative Spring break where students learn and volunteer outside of Ann Arbor. For more information see volunteer and sign up!

If you’re on the East side of central campus, we invite you to stop by and visit us. The basement is a quiet space that is open for study, prayer, reflection or whatever you need (maybe a nap?) during the week. We have free wireless, a kitchen, a selection of magazines, a library full of theological works and lots of comfy seating all for you to use. It’s quite possible that, if you stop by when the pastors are around, we may make you a cup of coffee. We might be biased, but the Chapel basement is a great place to get work done or to take a break. Come check it out.

We’re located on the eastern edge of Central Campus at University of Michigan. Our address is 1236 Washtenaw Ct, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
